It all started with Nick Gibbs, the Editor-in-Chief of the Ibizan, Ibiza’s weekly English language newspaper, contacting me for the 750th Edition of the newspaper.
Nick, himself a skilled photographer, has always delighted me with his support of my iPhone / Mobile photography exploits. When I’ve run classes teaching iPhoneography on the island, Nick has been kind enough to promote the events via the newspaper.
However, the 750th Edition was an important one – with an ‘Love Ibiza’ theme to it and lo behold, Nick asked if he could use one of my images to portray the beauty of the island.
Although I’d had iPhone images printed for a solo exhibition before, newspaper print is a different thing and I wasn’t sure how it was going to work out.
As it transpired, it worked out very well and since then, Nick, friends with me on my private Facebook profile has occasionally asked to use more images (I’ve just sent him another two before writing about this) and I’ve found my images gracing the First Page of the newspaper 🙂
I thought I’d snapshot the publications, in the hopes of giving others heart and inspiration with their own work. An iPhone does fine 😉
